Challenges: New adult education law on the way
The adult education sector and the Armenian Lifelong learning League were significantly affected by the pandemic, as the majority of contracts were terminated. One of the challenges for the upcoming year will be raising public awareness of the COVID-19 situation and supporting providers to deliver their courses. Another challenge will be the creation of Adult Education centers in Armenian universities.
For the upcoming year, part of the focus in the sector will be on supporting the implementation of the adult education law. Raising awareness on the law and the general importance of adult learning is important, in a country where adult education has not received recognition among the population. Therefore, the adult education sector in Armenia is raising awareness around EAEA’s Adult Education Manifesto, which has been published in over three TV channels. Regardless of many financing and legal challenges, the adult education sector continues to promote adult learning across Armenia.
